History Lesson '1980's

Luckily for me I have friends who are complete skate nerds Dead Dave being one of them. After yesterday's shred he offered me a lift back to my place, as we got to his car he was "oh, I've got something that will interest you" pulling out this old Skateboard Mag, I half knew what he was gonna show me. There it was. The original Teesside Article from the 80's. "Who'd you get that off, Mini?" I asked. "Nah Man - Ebay" was the reply. I started to look through and sure enough there was the Si Briggs backside carve on the British Steel Full-Pipes in Redcar. I turned the page and holy shit, DARLO. (Darlo was named this as he was the only skater from Darlington!!) aka Graham Pigg. I got to skate with him a few times when I was a Grom and remember getting the train to the Herlingshaw on occasion. The 80's is an unknown for me as I started 1990 I only had VHS's or stories for reference. So I guess Darlo didn't skate too much past 92 or certainly when the Herlingshaw closed that was the end of him. Anyway the picture of him stoked me out so much I decided to put the full article here for your viewing pleasure. Forgive the shitty photos I know I should've scanned it.
